This Batana Nourishing Hair & Scalp Oil is a rich, conditioning hair and scalp oil made with batana oil — a prized botanical ingredient sourced from the American oil palm. Applied to the scalp and hair, it deeply nourishes and conditions from root to tip, leaving hair looking visibly shinier, feeling stronger, and appearing more resilient with consistent use. A luxurious botanical hair oil for all hair types.
Best For
- Use area: Scalp and hair — from roots to ends
- Hair type: All hair types, including dry, damaged, and colour-treated hair
- Hair/Scalp concern: Dry, dull, or brittle-looking hair; dry scalp; desire for visibly shinier, stronger-looking hair
- Routine step: Scalp and hair oil step — use as a pre-shampoo treatment, leave-in treatment, or finishing oil
Key Benefits
- Batana oil deeply nourishes and conditions the scalp and hair for a visibly healthier-looking appearance
- Supports the appearance of visibly shinier, more lustrous-looking hair with regular use
- Helps hair look and feel stronger and more resilient — less prone to a brittle, dry appearance
- Suitable for colour-treated hair — nourishing formula that helps preserve hair vibrancy
Hero Ingredients
- Batana Oil (American Palm Fruit Oil) — a rich, amber-coloured botanical oil traditionally sourced from the American oil palm (Elaeis oleifera), prized for its deeply conditioning properties that leave hair looking visibly shinier and feeling nourished from scalp to ends
- Nourishing Botanical Blend — complementary plant-derived conditioning oils that support a healthy-looking scalp and visibly stronger-looking hair strands
How to Use
- Pre-shampoo treatment: Apply a generous amount to the scalp and hair, massage into the scalp, work through to the ends, and leave for 20–30 minutes before shampooing out.
- Leave-in conditioning treatment: Apply a small amount to towel-dried hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Style as usual — do not rinse.
- Scalp massage: Apply a few drops to the scalp and massage gently for 3–5 minutes to nourish the scalp.
- For all methods, wash hands after use.
When to Use
Use as a pre-shampoo treatment 1–2 times per week for intensive scalp and hair conditioning, or as a leave-in finishing oil for daily shine and nourishment on dry hair. Batana oil is a rich formula — a small amount goes a long way, especially for fine or low-porosity hair. Start with a small amount and increase as needed for your hair type and thickness.
Texture / Format / Size
A rich, amber-hued oil with a characteristic warm, natural scent — both are authentic markers of batana oil. The formula spreads easily through the hair and scalp when warmed slightly between the palms. Like all batana oil products, the natural scent is distinctive and dissipates as the oil absorbs or is rinsed out. Safe for colour-treated hair.
Warnings & Patch Test

- Perform a patch test on the inner wrist 24 hours before first full scalp use, especially if you have a sensitive scalp.
- Rinse immediately with plenty of water if product contacts eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is batana oil and where does it come from?
Batana oil (also known as ojon oil) is a rich botanical oil pressed from the fruit of the American oil palm (Elaeis oleifera), traditionally used in Central America — particularly by the Miskito people of Honduras — for hair care. It is prized for its deeply conditioning properties and characteristic amber colour.
Will the natural scent of batana oil wash out?
Batana oil has a distinctive, warm, earthy natural scent. When used as a pre-shampoo treatment that is rinsed out, most of the scent will be removed by shampooing. As a leave-in, the natural scent will linger and gradually fade.
Is this suitable for fine hair?
Yes — though batana oil is rich, a small amount applied to the ends and mid-lengths works well for fine hair. Avoid applying too much near the roots on fine hair to prevent a heavy or weighed-down appearance.
Can I use this on colour-treated hair?
Yes — the nourishing botanical formula is safe for use on colour-treated hair.
